To try to get you to pay off your debts quicker some creditors will harass the people who owe them money. This is illegal and if you think they are doing any of the following contact trading standards or the police.

Creditors cannot contact you too frequently or late at night. They are allowed to contact you occasionally if you do not keep up with your repayments though.

They cannot contact your employer.

They cannot prosecute you at a criminal court because you haven’t paid your debts.

They cannot park a van in front of your home labelled ‘Debt Collectors’.
